Azur Parapente: a story of free flight enthusiasts
Founded in 1996 by Christian Vidal, Azur Parapente is the first paragliding company to establish itself in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, offering everyone the opportunity to discover the French Riviera by paragliding. Christian Vidal, an engineer by training and a graduate of INSA in Lyon, discovered paragliding in 1986 and immediately became passionate about this discipline.
He became a state-certified instructor of 1st degree paragliding sports instructor (BEES) in 1996 and a trainer of future paragliding instructors from 2002.
Since the creation of Azur Parapente, Christian Vidal has worked as a professional tandem instructor at the Mont Gros site, with the approval of the Roquebrune-Cap-Martin town hall. His motto, "safety and passenger pleasure," illustrates his commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Christian was even chosen by the TV show Thalassa for a report, where he took journalist Bernard Dussol into the air.
For several years, Thierry Delorme has taken up the torch, determined to continue the work of Christian Vidal, with whom he worked. Passionate about paragliding, Thierry is committed to sharing this passion.
It perpetuates the values of safety, pleasure and excellence which have always characterized Azur Parapente.
By bringing together a team of 7 top-level instructors around him, he propelled Azur Paragliding to the forefront of paragliding activities on the Côte d'Azur.
A certified DEjeps paragliding professional, he is responsible for the Paragliding Check-up workshop and guarantees and certifies the quality of paragliding equipment. His experience is recognized by the biggest paragliding brands internationally.

All members of the Azur Parapente team are passionate about outdoor activities that they practice regularly (mountaineering, parachuting, wingsuit, kitesurfing, wingfoil, etc.).
Whether in the air, on the water, or on land, we always stay in touch with nature, which is our playground. Respecting and protecting it is part of our DNA. It was therefore natural for us to actively work to make our business more environmentally friendly, with concrete actions every day:
- By using light vehicles running on LPG for our travel.
- By organizing group flights with several instructors in order to minimize the carbon impact of each flight taken.
- By choosing a meeting place near Roquebrune-Cap-Martin station, making your arrival by train easier.
- By recycling our paragliding equipment thanks to our partner Checkup-parapente, to give it a second life.
- By acting to respect and preserve our flight sites.
- By actively campaigning for respect for areas dedicated to the protection of flora and fauna.
Committing to the environmental cause is essential to Azur Parapente's values.
This is why we have decided to become a member of the international collective 1% for the Planet by donating 1% of our annual turnover to one or more environmental associations.
